.IT Domain Name Registrations

Established in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-code top-level extension is really popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building creative and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to come back to your website or to share it with coworkers and acquaintances. The domain extension can also be used for a website, which is connected to the information sector due to the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is recognized around the globe.

Having in mind the fact that .IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that handles this domain name extension, such a domain can be registered through a third-party domain provider, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can get a .IT domain for no more than one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. The only requirement is that the person obtaining such a domain must be located in a member state of the European Union.

As there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of various territories and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such third-level domains, though, given that they can be registered only by locals.
